Stanthorpe Rocks Breaks all Records
It wasn’t just the heat that broke records last weekend, as the Stanthorpe Rocks music festival also broke records being sold out early with a record number of attendees, which is quite an achievement for an event in its second year!
Fabulous feedback from attendees, vendors and business throughout the region is flowing in to event organisers, Slydogz Eventz.
“We’ve had lots of positive feedback and a lot of people wanting to book for next year already, which is great for the town and for all of us. Generally people had a really good time. One lady that called into the info centre had taken her mother and her daughter and they all really enjoyed themselves, so the line-up obviously had very broad appeal!” reported Franki from Top of the Town Tourist Park.
Event organiser, Ian Wade-Parker of Slydogz Eventz says the popularity of the event can be attributed to creating the perfect festival formula with even the smallest of details addressed.
“We were really happy with how the day went and the photos are testament to everyone having a great time as there are smiles all around! We are already planning next year to be bigger and better than ever with a new location that will give us more space and allow us to custom build the site. It’s a great event for the region and we are really proud of it,” said Ian Wade Parker, CEO of Slydogz Eventz.
“We’ve developed our own style for our festivals so that we deliver a premier and unique experience which is really attractive to the discerning festival goer. As well as terrific rock music we also provide a great selection of local food and beverages at reasonable prices, superior facilities with everything kept clean throughout the event, happy and friendly staff, a large dance area and even a chill out zone to kick back and relax in that showcases local acoustic musicians.”
It is estimated that the event returned over $1.2 million to the Granite Belt with over 70% of the ticket holders come from outside the region from as far away as Adelaide and Darwin. There are returns to local accommodation, retail, food and beverage providers and community organisations such as Lions Club of Stanthorpe, Rotary Club of Stanthorpe and Rural Fire Service who undertook fundraising activities at the event.
Slydogz Events announced at the festival they are rolling out the Rocks Events throughout Queensland in 2015 including Charters Towers, Roma and other possible locations. Based on the highly successful Stanthorpe Rocks formula these events are set to be sure winners also.
"What a credit to you. Not a thing out of place, food great, toilets clean, music great (reckon Russell Morris was bloody fantastic). A great show and something to be very proud of. Looking forward to next year." -- Cheryl & Brad, Savina Lane Winery
"We have already booked our accommodation for next year. The staff working in our marquee were helpful, efficient and very patient ... Congratulations - great job to both of you and your staff." -- Lyn, Wellington Point
"Thanks so much for your hard work ... we did survive the heat and had a great time as well... bring on next year..." -- Ann , Stanthorpe
"I just wanted to let you know what a great day we had. The band's were excellent and the service from the Slydogz team was exceptional. Yes it was hot, but that now was out of your control. Barrel Room put on a grey spread (for the corporate marquees) and the variety and quality of food that we tasted and saw in the food area was yummo. As a local business owner, I would like to thank you for what this event brings to our little town. The town was buzzing Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Looking forward to the new event site next year and a whole new line up. Really enjoyed the cocktails too! " -- Nathan, Granite Belt Cleaning & Hospitality Supplies
"My group of 8 VIP's that I booked through my business, had an awesome day. They couldn't find fault the whole day. The food was amazing, service was personal & professional, and they were extremely impressed that Ian took the time out of his busy day to sit and chat with them. They said the little extras just topped off an extremely well organised day. Congratulations to you all on another amazing day. Looking forward to year #3." -- Wems, Tenterfield
